Group Review Observations: (Solo group)

1. ( Ashley M) I liked the example of the line in the old fashion camera photo.
2. ( Nick D) Sun makes strong emphasis on corner of the building. The rhythm and unity photos are too similar.
3. ( Olivia H) Good example of space with all the unique architecture on that corner of plant hall.
4. (Maddie L) Like the line example of the dock running off into the water. The water is floating one way and the wooden panel is floating the other.
5. ( Taylor S) Would be easier to follow if the photos were right next to the text. Good example of proportion on how small the tampa skyline looks from a distance. Strong emphasis on minaret and the palm tree
6. ( Michael B) Good representation of shape with the spartan. It is a very complex sculpture but I can notice all the shapes hidden in the details.

Color Assignment:

My favorite color is blue. Blue is known for being the "relaxing" color and is very pleasing to the eye. Blue comes in many different shades and tints, like the ocean color or a light blue sky color. Blue has a sense of relaxation and looks good with almost every other color when put side by side or in a painting.

Pre Zombie Apocalypse :

- Its literally shelfs of small bagged goods and cans, probably in an Asian country of some sort. The rows seems to go on for ever and its is very organized. The pattern that appears is a row of cans and a row of bags. It looks like it is grouped into similar things as spices, cleaning, drinks.

- The emotional impact of this photo is frustration and awe inspiring because it is very hectic and crazy. The emotions that come on when looking at this photo is overwhelming and confused because it just loos like a row of things repeating in various sizes and there is no indication of what is what and what isle contains what things.

- Before the photograph was taken the shelfs were empty filled with workers trying to fill the shelfs as orderly and organized as they could. After the apocalypse it interrupts  the order and causes the shelfs to start depleting when everyone franticly takes all necessary goods off of the shelfs.

- The photograph is trying to convay that one day that we are going to become overpopulated as the population keeps growing and that we need to be organized as a society in order to succeed and have people live good and successful lifes.

4. The Butcher's Block series is very strange and has a horror type of theme to them.
5. I like the black and white filter on most of the photos and the mood that it creates.

2. What is the next place you want to travel too to make a series of photos about?
3. What were the inspirations behind the strange and abstract photos?
4. Were the photos in Mallorca actually taken there? where is that place?
5. Do you have an overall theme for all of your photos or have a certain aspect you like to capture most in your photos?

Web Cam Chat Overview :

Speaking with the artist/photographer was a very interesting experience.  I liked how he explained the steps that he took to get where he is today because that is relatable to a college class who may be unsure of their future as an artist. He had a strong outlook on life and kind of a "Il take things as the come to me" kind of attitude , but it seems like its been working for him since he has his work displayed in galleries across the country. At first glance his work was very confusing, but once we talked to him I got a better understanding of the thought process behind each one, even though he didn't reveal every single detail about his work.

Web Cam Chat 2-3/5/14

 1. What is your obsession with plates all about?
 2. Do the feet and hands in the artwork have any meaning?
 3. How do you print the pictures onto the glass plates?
 4. What is the most materials you have used in one piece of ark?
 5. What is the most interesting story behind one of your works?

 1. I noticed the constant theme of religion in the art.
 2. I liked how he used a combination of different things to make up one sculpture.
 3. I noticed how much time and thought it would take to make many of these pieces of art.
 4. The gallery of plates is very simple, yet intriguing because I want to know what they mean.
 5. The plate gallery could represent a series of time through a relationship.
